Kristin Simmons Kicks Off Her ‘Delulu Era’ with a Bold Exhibition at Casa de Campo

Renowned contemporary artist Kristin Simmons is launching her new exhibition, Welcome to My Delulu Era, Resort Edition, a vibrant and provocative collection that explores the boundary between fantasy and reality in modern culture. The show will be open to the public at the Altos de Chavón gallery, Casa de Campo, until April 14.

With his characteristic style, full of irony, bright colors, and pop culture references, Simmons presents a series of works that challenge viewers« perceptions of self-deception, consumerism, and digital identity. The exhibition is inspired by the »delulu era« phenomenon, a term derived from »delusional" and popularized on social media, which offers a scathing yet humorous critique of how people construct alternative narratives to cope with reality.

«I felt like the world was getting too serious. Everything was becoming too grave, even art, and I think art doesn't always have to be such a serious space,» Simmons comments. «I wanted to create something that would make people smile, while also considering the Casa de Campo environment. I wanted to convey that feeling I get when I'm on vacation, but keeping our usual critique in a fun and daring way. That's how »Welcome to My Delulu Era, Resort Edition' came about."

The inauguration began at 6:30 p.m., offering attendees the opportunity to explore Simmons« works while enjoying cava and lively music. At 7:30 p.m., guests were invited to a »one-on-one" encounter with the artist, guided by Luciana Goldfain, the general manager of Altos de Chavón, where they could learn more about Simmons' vision, ask questions, and enjoy select appetizers.

The event organized by the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery team, under the direction of Luciana Goldfain, is part of the Artist in Residence program and the celebration of Casa de Campo Resort's 50th anniversary. All pieces in the exhibition are for sale. Additionally, Simmons has brought a special selection of products such as keychains, bags, and prints, which reflect her provocative and unique style. Based in New York, the artist designed this collection with a «resort» vibe, evoking the luxury and relaxation of Casa de Campo, but with her unmistakable irreverent and sophisticated touch. «From New York, I wanted to create a collection that captured the essence of a luxury getaway, while maintaining that irreverent and sophisticated touch that characterizes me.»

The exhibition features previously unseen pieces that combine mixed media, such as paintings, collages, and interactive installations, inviting the public to question their own beliefs and fantasies.

The exhibition will be available at the Altos de Chavón gallery, Casa de Campo, with visiting hours from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm. For more information, call 809-523-3314.
