Heliconia Projects, the renowned curatorial platform and traveling gallery based in the Dominican Republic, presented the exhibition “Beginnings” this past January 18th at Casa de Campo Country Club, in a special event benefiting the MIR Foundation.

“Beginnings” brings together works by artists Petra Schott and Jess Cochrane, whose pieces explore themes related to origins, transformation, and the reinterpretation of identity. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the dynamism of new beginnings, celebrating the transformative power of art.

Jess Cochrane's work is characterized by compositions that combine familiar scenes with themes such as shared memory, motherhood, and childhood. This exhibition stands out for its use of vibrant colors and the depiction of landscapes that evoke the sun and the ocean, universal symbols of life cycles and new beginnings.

For her part, Petra Schott presents abstract figures of emotional landscapes and personal transitions. Her works, full of luminosity and movement, reflect the fusion between past and present, capturing the essence of change and introspection through color and texture.
