The MIR Foundation successfully held its highly anticipated annual event, Family Day, last weekend. This celebration, which aims to raise funds to support over 2,400 families in the La Romana community, offered an intense program of activities including a golf tournament, a padel tournament, and a tennis clinic for boys and girls, at the La Romana Country Club in Casa de Campo.

The golf tournament, which had two rounds: a morning and an afternoon session, brought together dozens of players who united to support the cause through their favorite sport. The tennis courts were also filled with energy, with boys and girls participating in the tennis clinic, encouraged by the enthusiasm and commitment of their parents.

That year was the second time the padel tournament was held, which was well received by the Casa de Campo community.

The evening concluded with an awards dinner, hosted by the charming master of ceremonies, Laura De La Nuez. Attendees also enjoyed an energetic artistic performance by the girls of the MIR Foundation.

During the event, Mrs. Lian Fanjul de Azqueta expressed her profound gratitude to those present, highlighting her satisfaction with the support received over the years and emphasizing her desire to give back to the Dominican Republic all the good she has received from the country through these schools.

Meanwhile, Lyanne Azqueta, executive director of the MIR Foundation, invited all collaborators to visit the school facilities to observe firsthand how their donations contribute to the continuous growth and development of these institutions. Azqueta emphasized that the foundation continues to innovate with new programs, such as the recent addition of a soccer program for children, adapting to the interests of youth and technological advancements.

This year, the event had greater corporate support, which allowed for more amenities on the golf course and enriched the participants' experience. The awards dinner brought together around 300 guests, including prominent personalities such as television host Lili Estefan, designer Mónica Sordo, as well as Luis Alfonso de Borbón and his family, among others.
