Fernando Tamburini: when the earth speaks to you – how «Conversations with the Land» gets lived»

Last Friday, December 5th, the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery opened its doors to a sensory journey with the new 2025 collection by Dominican artist Fernando Tamburini: Conversations with the Land. More than an exhibition, it is an invitation to feel nature from within.

A visual experience and more

Upon entering the room, you don't just see landscapes... you inhabit them. Tamburini manages to make one feel the wind, the rain, the rural calm, and even the humidity that precedes a downpour. His canvases flow with curves, rhythms, and colors that seem to move on their own.

“It’s as if the earth were breathing,” some visitors commented as they toured the exhibition. And it's true, her works don't paint places: they tell memories.

Works containing rivers and sky

One of the most striking aspects is the collection of three-dimensional pieces. Vases and objects are transformed to contain water, clouds, and entire landscapes. They are not simple decorative pieces; they are small windows into an emotional territory.

The full exhibition feels like walking inside a map of experiences: decisions, silences, beginnings, searches.

An honest conversation with nature

Tamburini proposes something simple and profound: to remember that the earth is not only beneath us, but also within us. And that idea connects with anyone who lives in or loves the Caribbean.
