On Saturday, December 14th, the Elizabeth P. Zeller Ballet Academy delighted audiences with its traditional annual ballet show, titled this year "Down the Rabbit Hole." Despite the inclement weather and the threat of rain, the dancers' passion and talent shone brightly in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater in Casa de Campo.

Although the rain delayed the start of the show, the audience, eagerly awaiting the end of the storm, was not discouraged and remained patient, waiting for the opening moment. The young dancers, who had prepared with dedication all year, lived up to expectations, gracefully and skillfully presenting a story inspired by Alice in Wonderland and its beloved characters.

Each year, the Elizabeth P. Zeller Ballet Academy has provided the Casa de Campo community with a high-quality performance, full of talent and creativity. This 2024, dancers of various ages, from the youngest to the most experienced, captivated the audience with their impressive performances, leaps, and pirouettes, accompanied by colorful and beautiful costumes typical of the classic tale.

The event was under the direction of Ivonne Zeller, daughter of the beloved founder of the academy, Elizabeth P. de Zeller, who is fondly remembered as «Auntie Eli.» For over five decades, «Auntie Eli» shared her love and commitment to ballet, and her legacy lives on through the work and dedication of her daughter, who continues to lead the academy with the same passion and vision.

In addition to being a celebration of dance, this annual show has a noble purpose: to raise funds for the Padre Abreu Nursing Home. The Elizabeth P. Zeller Ballet Academy has been a pillar of support for the home for 55 years, contributing to the well-being of its residents.

The event's master of ceremonies was Gabriella Reginato, who welcomed the attendees and guided the evening with her charisma and elegance.

In this edition, as in previous years, the show was not only a demonstration of the young dancers' talent, but also a manifestation of the academy's commitment to the community and the legacy of its founder, Elizabeth P. de Zeller. Undoubtedly, a magical night that will remain in the memory of all those present.
