About the Charles T. Manatt Memorial Ambassador's Cup
Charles Taylor Manatt served as the United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, representing the administration of President Bill Clinton from 1999 to 2001. Ambassador Manatt was the architect of the Ambassador's Cup golf tournament, which has been held annually by the American Chamber of Commerce since 2000.
The diplomat conceived the idea that the tournament would become an opportunity for those who have succeeded in business to contribute to the institution, work for the common good, and have fun while doing so, or in his own words: “An opportunity for those who have done well, to do good, and have fun doing it.”
