Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja conquered the Dominican audience this Saturday night during her highly anticipated concert at Altos de Chavón, where she celebrated her 50-year artistic career with a show filled with nostalgia, ovations, and an impeccable live performance and production by ED Live, directed by Eduardo Durán.

The artist took the stage at 9:15 PM accompanied by the Santo Domingo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted in part by her Spanish maestro Carlos Checa, in addition to thanking the Dominican maestro Amaury Sánchez, who was in charge of one of the special moments of the night, in what marked her first performance at the emblematic Dominican amphitheater.

From the beginning, the audience showed they were complicit in the evening, singing along to every song and accompanying the Andalusian performer with applause. She remained on stage for over two hours.

“I am very grateful to be on this Altos de Chavón stage for the first time to sing for my Dominican audience,” the 69-year-old singer expressed excitedly.

During the concert, she performed some of the most iconic songs of her career, such as “Hazme tuya una vez más,” “Marinero de luces,” “Era mi vida él,” “Se me enamora el alma,” “Así fue,” and “Hoy quiero confesar,” stirring emotion among the attendees, who hummed along to every hit from beginning to end.

One of the most emotional moments of the night came with “Abrázame muy fuerte,” a song popularized by Juan Gabriel, which caused a strong ovation from the audience present.

The artist also had a special gesture towards the Dominican people by performing “Virgen del Rocío,” dedicating the song to the Virgin of Altagracia, the spiritual patroness of the country.

Amidst the show, Isabel Pantoja made it clear that her performance was completely live. “There’s nothing recorded here, not even the cough. And in these 50 years, I’ve been incapable of lip-syncing anything,” she stated to applause.

The setup stood out for its elegance and technology, with giant screens, LED lights, and impeccable sound that made the historic stones of Altos de Chavón vibrate.

The interpreter concluded the night with a repertoire of 21 songs and a standing ovation that sealed her connection with the Dominican audience, as part of her international tour “50th Anniversary,” with which she celebrates five decades of artistic career.
