Altos de Chavón celebrates the «Chavón Market: Pre-Loved Edition» benefiting PBO and MIR Foundation

In an environment that combined solidarity, design, and environmental awareness, the Plaza Fuente de los Peces in Altos de Chavón was the setting for the special edition «Chavón Market: Pre-Loved Edition», an event conceived to promote the circular economy and support education in La Romana.

The solidarity day, held last Saturday, June 20th, starting at 11:00 a.m., allocated all of its proceeds to the social programs of the MIR Foundation and the Eastern Charitable Patronage (PBO), pillar institutions in education and social assistance in the province of La Romana.

The market offered attendees a curated selection of pieces that included select apparel of subtle uses (garments pre-owned), as well as new and privately-collected footwear and accessories. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase exclusive items under the premise of giving new life to high-quality garments, fostering more conscious and responsible consumption.

The event's atmosphere was enhanced by the participation of a live DJ, who livened up the shopping experience for guests and residents who gathered at the cultural complex.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the specialized talk with the image consultant. Alejandra Paredes. During her presentation, Paredes interacted closely with the audience, sharing key guidelines on how to optimize wardrobes, revalue unused clothing, and the positive impact sustainable fashion has on environmental preservation.

Likewise, family integration had its own space through a painting workshop specifically designed for children, allowing the younger ones to explore their creativity in a safe and inspiring environment.
