
After completing the most significant restoration process since its inauguration in 1971, Casa de Campo Resort & Villascelebrated the grand reopening of its legendary golf course Teeth of the Dog, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona.
The project, which involved an investment of US$15 million dollars, reaffirms the resort's position as one of the world's most prestigious golf destinations and as a leader in the Caribbean.
The ceremony featured the blessing of Reverend Father Jorge Dionel Hernández, parish priest of the Santa Rosa de Lima Parish in La Romana and gathered government officials such as the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, along with the highest executives of Central Romana Corporation, led by its president, José “Pepe” Fanjul Jr., and executive vice presidents Ramón Menéndez, Leo Matos García, and Eduardo Martínez-Lima. Also present were special guests, members of the press, and international golf figures.
During the ceremony, the president Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Andrés Pichardo Rosenberg highlighted that the restoration had the vision and purpose of preserving the integrity of one of the most emblematic golf courses globally.
“Today we celebrate the preservation of a legend. Restoring Teeth of the Dog was not simply an upgrade; it was a commitment to excellence and to the legacy of the legendary architect Pete Dye. This project ensures that future generations of golfers can experience the course as it was originally conceived,” expressed Pichardo Rosenberg.
For his part, the president of Central Romana Corporation, José “Pepe” Fanjul Jr., underscored the importance of this investment for the country's tourism development.
