If you've ever wondered what Dominican creativity looks like when it explodes without limits, INDÓMITA has the answer. Season 08 closed on a high note at the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery last Friday, November 28th, making it clear that fashion and art not only coexist but enhance each other.
A closing full of stories
The afternoon began with a spontaneous and intimate conversation between Karina Cortorreal, creator of INDÓMITA, and designer Paola Santana. More than a technical talk, it was a conversation between two women who experience design through curiosity, learning, and passion.
Karina spoke about how much the team learns each season. For this edition, the starting point was the legacy of master Jorge Severino, and designer Paola shared how the artist's work led her to imagine calla lilies turned into tops and butterflies that inspired sleeves that look like they are flying.
The spirit of INDOMITABLE
More than an exhibition, INDÓMITA feels like an open door for those who need a push to showcase their talent. Karina said it clearly: “There will always be space here for anyone who wants to create with discipline and heart.”.
The conversation also yielded a scoop: Season 09 is already on its way and will be baseball-inspired. Yes, our national sport turned into fashion.
A tribute to Severino that still resonates
The exhibition recalled the “painter of contrasts” with a mix of femininity, mystery, and color that marked his work. Each designer reinterpreted his universe and brought it to their own language.
Stay tuned to our social media and events in Altos de Chavón. Very soon we will share photos, videos, and sneak peeks of what's to come.
