Last Friday, July 18, the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery opened with great success the exhibition “Memories, Colors, and Forms,” a solo show by the renowned Barcelona artist Fabré Sallent, whose works celebrate the beauty, simplicity, and color of the Caribbean.
The opening brought together residents, visitors, and art lovers for a multisensory evening that combined art, ambient music, and light gastronomy, highlighting the artist's visual proposal. The event began at 6:00 p.m. with the doors opening, followed by a meet-and-greet with the artist at 6:30 p.m., where Sallent offered welcoming remarks and a guided talk about his work. At 6:45 p.m., the formal inaugural ceremony took place, accompanied by cocktails and appetizers. The evening concluded at 8:30 p.m., with the gallery closing at 9:00 p.m.
The exhibition will be available until August 18, 2025, and can be visited from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free for residents, guests, and visitors.
About the artist
Born in Barcelona, Fabré Sallent finds his greatest source of inspiration in the Caribbean: coastal houses, coconut palms, rainbow-hued skies. With a palette knife and spontaneous brushstrokes, he transforms everyday scenes into vibrant compositions that invite us to look at life with optimism. He defines himself as a “philosopher of color and life,” and each canvas reflects that joyful and hopeful approach.
