On Friday, May 23rd, the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery was transformed into a vibrant stage of creative expression with the inauguration of the highly anticipated Annual Art Exhibition of the Abraham Lincoln School. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., parents, students, and members of the educational community gathered to celebrate the students' artistic talent, in a night brimming with color, emotion, and pride.

Displayed across the two levels of the gallery, the exhibited works—including drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations, and papier-mâché projects—were created by students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The exhibition offered an impressive variety of styles, techniques, and themes, ranging from portraits and still lifes to modern interpretations and three-dimensional pieces.

The presence of entire families—sharing laughter, pointing out the artwork with enthusiasm, and capturing memories—added a heartwarming touch to the event. Moments such as a mother proudly pointing out her daughter’s artwork, or a young artist posing in front of his colorful drawing, reflected the educational and emotional value of this annual exhibition.

This exhibition highlights the committed work of the institution's art teachers, who guide students in the process of discovering and developing their artistic voice.

About Abraham Lincoln School

Founded in 1917 and owned by the Central Romana Corporation, Abraham Lincoln School is located within the Central Romana complex in the city of La Romana, Dominican Republic. Its educational community is comprised of 40 teachers—25 British and 15 Dominican—and its curriculum combines the British National Curriculum with the IGCSE program at the secondary level. Furthermore, it integrates local subjects in Spanish, such as Dominican History and Literature. Students in their final years prepare to enter international universities with exams like the SAT and TOEFL.
