Altos de Chavón Art Gallery celebrates the opening of «Ecological Universe” by artist Germán García

The Altos de Chavón Art Gallery celebrated the official opening of the exhibition «Ecological Universe» last Friday, April 25th. The exhibition is a sensory proposal by Dominican artist Germán García, a native of San Cristóbal, and will be open to the public until May 14, 2025.

The event began at 6:30 PM in an intimate and carefully curated atmosphere. García's works, displayed on the first and second floors of the gallery, offered attendees an immersive experience that integrated visual pieces, natural elements, sound, and contemporary narrative.

As is tradition at gallery openings, guests enjoyed a special toast while exploring the various pieces that make up this new exhibition, which invites reflection on the connection between humans and nature.

During the “Meet the Artist” segment, Germán García personally shared the concepts behind «Ecological Universe,» describing it as «a sensory invitation to reconnect with the environment and become aware of our impact on it.» His presentation allowed those present to understand the profound ecological sensitivity and conceptual richness that underpin each of his works.

The evening also included live violin music and a tasting of finger foods inspired by the exhibition's concept, creating a space for dialogue and community that reaffirms the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery's commitment to promoting local talent and globally relevant themes, such as environmental awareness.

The «Ecological Universe» exhibition will be available until May 14, 2025. The Altos de Chavón Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and is closed on Sundays.
