La Romana International Airport announces two weekly flights from Poland via Skyup Airlines

La Romana International Airport announced the arrival of the first of two weekly flights from Poland operated by SkyUp Airlines. This inaugural flight reinforces La Romana's position as a key destination for tourism development in the eastern region of the country and the Caribbean.

The first flight arrived from the city of Warsaw, carrying 333 passengers on a modern, nearly full Boeing 777-300R, highlighting the high demand for this route. The second flight will also connect La Romana weekly with the Polish city of Katowice, strengthening tourism ties between Eastern Europe and the Dominican Republic.

“This operation is the result of a strategic collaboration with the esteemed tour operators Anex Tour and Join Up, who play an essential role in organizing trips from Poland to Caribbean paradises,” defined Luis Emilio Rodriguez, director of La Romana Airport. “These flights represent not only an opportunity for the arrival of European visitors but also a significant boost for the local economy, by promoting the tourism industry and generating new opportunities in the sector,” Rodriguez added.

La Romana International Airport, known for its excellent infrastructure and proximity to iconic tourist destinations such as Casa de Campo, the artistic village of Altos de Chavón, and the beach areas of Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominicus-Bayahíbe, Juan Dolio, and Boca Chica, continues to solidify its position as an ideal gateway for international visitors. The warm reception extended to the passengers of the inaugural flight included a demonstration of Dominican hospitality, ensuring their experience in the country will be a memorable one.

The incorporation of SkyUp Airlines into the airport's itinerary is a testament to the continued growth of the tourism sector in La Romana and the country's undeniable appeal as a preferred destination for travelers worldwide. Recently, American Airlines also resumed its daily flight from Miami to La Romana Airport, demonstrating the potential of this important tourist destination to generate new economic and business opportunities for the province and the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic.
