Fundación MIR holds its Magical Splendor Gala 2024

Last Saturday, March 9th, the MIR Foundation celebrated its highly anticipated annual fundraising event, the Magical Splendor Gala, on a dazzling night of solidarity and generosity. Hosted by Raysa and Alfy Fanjul, this glamorous evening featured the distinguished presence of renowned international fashion designer Naeem Khan.

The event, which took place in the majestic Casa Grande, began with an elegant cocktail reception, followed by an opening ceremony hosted by the evening's master of ceremonies, Renata Soñé. Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, founder of the MIR Foundation, and Lyanne Azqueta, vice president of MIR Charities, welcomed the distinguished guests and shared the foundation's mission and vision.

One of the notable performances of the evening was the musical presentation by the beneficiary children of the MIR Foundation, who captivated attendees with their talent and dedication. Additionally, students from the «Fashion Design and Sewing» program at the María Auxiliadora MIR Foundation school showcased their creations, made throughout the year with fabrics provided by Naeem Khan himself.

Guests had the opportunity to contribute to the cause through the traditional Naeem Khan dress auction, followed by a night of dancing and entertainment with live music, which kept the celebratory mood going throughout the evening.

Golf Tournament

Concurrently, at the prestigious La Romana Country Club golf course in Casa de Campo, the Magical Splendor Golf Tournament for the MIR Foundation Life 2024 took place. This tournament, a tradition in the community, has allowed the generous golfing community to contribute to the educational future of over 2,000 children enrolled in MIR schools.

The Golf Tournament Awards Ceremony took place during the Gala of Magical Splendor, recognizing and celebrating the effort and dedication of the participants. The winners were honored for their outstanding performance on the course and their contribution to the cause of education.

The MIR Foundation, with over 20 years of commitment to the education and development of Dominican youth, has 2,400 students enrolled between the ages of 3 and 18, with programs that cover a wide range of technical and professional disciplines.
