With 63 strokes, Edgar Alma and Fernando Rodr\u00edguez were proclaimed winners of the Charles T. Manatt Memorial Ambassador\u2019s Cup 2025 golf tournament, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), held on Saturday, May 10th at the La Romana Country Club course, in Casa de Campo, La Romana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tournament featured 128 golfers who competed in a two-person scramble format, with prizes awarded for the best scores in categories A, B, and C. The event began at 9:00 AM; following the national anthem, there were welcoming remarks from Francesca Rainieri, president of AMCHAMDR, who highlighted the importance of the Ambassador's Cup and what it represents for the Chamber and the business sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After this, Juan Vel\u00e1squez, vice president and administrator of Costasur\/Casa de Campo, gave the opening remarks for the event, encouraging the players to give their best and develop fair competition. On his part, Ra\u00fal Cendoya, technical director of the tournament, explained the rules and details of the game. Then, Mrs. Rainieri performed the ceremonial first serve, marking the official start of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the course of the Ambassador's Cup, the players competed in an event marked by an atmosphere of integration and healthy sportsmanship. By 3:00 PM, the golfers had completed the 18 holes of the course, after which they were welcomed to the Casa de Campo Country Club's Clubhouse for lunch and the awards ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In Category A, the first net prize winners were Carlos Medrano and Louis Bogaert with 62 strokes. The second net prize in the same category went to Santiago Hazim and Francisco \u00c1lvarez with 63 strokes. The third net prize was awarded to Michael Cuello and Manuel Antonio Mart\u00ednez with 64 strokes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Category B, the net first-place winners were golfers Ram\u00f3n Ortega Tavares and Fernando Villanueva with 64 strokes. In net second place, with an equal score of 64 strokes, were Miguel Tav\u00e1rez and Jos\u00e9 Nicasio, followed by Jos\u00e9 Aybar and Iovar Medina with 65 strokes for net third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Category C, Edmundo Garza and Andr\u00e9s Villoria took first place with a total of 62 net strokes.
