Last Monday, February 26, the emblematic central plaza of Altos de Chav\u00f3n became the epicenter of the celebration for the 180th anniversary of the Dominican Republic's independence. Starting at 7:30 PM, dozens of people gathered in this picturesque location to immerse themselves in an atmosphere charged with patriotism and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Live music, provided by the Gold Cocotropical orchestra, echoed through every corner, getting everyone to dance to the rhythm of contagious merengues. The space was transformed into a true visual feast, decorated with golf carts adorned with typically Dominican elements like plantains, fresh fruit, tamboras, and the imposing national flag waving proudly. Among the traditional characters who livened up the night were the typical monkey, Roba la Gallina, diablos cojuelos, a group of Guloyas, sancos, and a variety of fantastic beings that delighted everyone present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
