{"id":12435,"date":"2023-10-01T23:47:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-01T23:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elips.io\/clients\/costasur-site\/?p=12435"},"modified":"2026-05-25T02:35:32","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T02:35:32","slug":"fernando-villalona-continues-to-fly-high-in-chavon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/costasur.com.do\/en\/fernando-villalona-sigue-volando-alto-en-chavon\/","title":{"rendered":"Fernando Villalona continues to soar high in Chav\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1986, the iconic Dominican artist Fernando Villalona electrified the stage at the nascent Altos de Chav\u00f3n amphitheater, which had already hosted world-famous stars such as the renowned Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, Santana, Joan Jett, and Heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty-seven years later, \u201cThe Spoiled Child\u201d returned in grand style to this very same location last Saturday night, August 12th, with another memorable and emotionally charged performance, masterfully produced by the company Big Show Pro and Casa de Campo to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this emblematic stone venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI was very attentive to do it again, and thank you, Lord, for putting these people here on the stones of Altos de Chav\u00f3n, some of whom were here that day, 37 years ago, in 1986. Thank you, Father, this is the greatest blessing you have given me tonight,\u201d the artist expressed very emotionally amidst the cheering crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With massive attendance and a completely clear sky, the venue was filled to capacity to receive the legendary performer, accompanied on many of his songs by his daughter Paloma and artists of the caliber of Omar Henriquez, Magic Juan, Sergio Vargas, Jandy Ventura, F\u00e9lix Cumbe, Rubby P\u00e9rez, Pavel N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Techy Fatule, Gabriel Pag\u00e1n, Francisco Cruz, Lupe Valerio, Eudy Cruz, and Arturo Sanquint\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was, without a doubt, a night for the history books, in a vibrant atmosphere, where the euphoria of the fans created a unique celebratory mood from the very first chord of \u201cSer\u00e9\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fernando Villalona captivated the audience with his charisma and unmistakable voice, making this show unforgettable for everyone present with a repertoire that included 36 of his greatest hits in merengue, ballad, and bolero, such as \u201cMi pueblo,\u201d \u201cY te amo solo,\u201d \u201cQuijote,\u201d \u201cPen\u00e9lope,\u201d \u201cTe amo demasiado,\u201d \u201cPayaso,\u201d \u201cSon\u00e1mbulo,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a luxurious production that included excellent dancers and the accompaniment of an unparalleled orchestra, strengthened by four choristers (Chantal Villalona, Nicole Lazala, Ren\u00e9 Geraldino, and Emmanuel Burgos) and 16 musicians, under the direction of maestro Manuel Tejada, the artist gave his all, offering his talent through songs that have become ingrained in the memory of Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first of his guests to take the stage was the Venezuelan Omar Henriquez, achieving an impeccable duet to the rhythm of \u201cCama y mesa.\u201d Meanwhile, Magic Juan and Arturo Sanquint\u00edn accompanied him on \u201cLa lluvia,\u201d and Luis Valerio joined in to masterfully perform \u201cTatico Henr\u00edquez.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the medley that the production called \u201cRiders of Merengue,\u201d the crowd's excitement was immediate from the moment they heard Sergio Vargas with \u201cAmaneciendo,\u201d Jandy Ventura sang \u201cLa hamaquita,\u201d and Francisco Cruz performed \u201cF\u00e9lix Cumb\u00e9\u201d alongside Villalona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other luxury guests that the crowd enjoyed from beginning to end were Eudy Cruz, to the rhythm of \u201cMuchachita m\u00eda\u201d; Gabriel Pag\u00e1n combined perfectly with El Mayimbe while performing \u201cConfundido\u201d; Pavel N\u00fa\u00f1ez charmed the thousands of attendees with \u201cH\u00e1blame mi vida\u201d and \u201cVida consentida\u201d; Paloma Villalona did so masterfully with her father to the beat of the merengue \u201cMe muero por ti\u201d; Rubby P\u00e9rez won the hearts of the public with the rhythm \u201cPato robao\u201d, as did Techy Fatule with the sweetness of her voice that gave another nuance to \u201cDelirante amor\u201d and \u201cQue me quedes t\u00fa\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nestor Caro, recognized for producing large-scale events, once again demonstrated his ability to create unique experiences in the entertainment world. Meticulous planning and attention to every detail contributed to the resounding success of this exceptional evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most advanced technical resources and cutting-edge special effects sealed this concert as one of the most impactful productions of this year 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Undoubtedly, Fernando Villalona's return to the Altos de Chav\u00f3n stage marked a milestone in his career and in Dominican music.
